Accountant

Oversee daily financial operations, cost control, inventory reconciliation, internal audit support, and compliance with UAE tax regulations. This role requires hands-on experience in managing high-volume trading transactions, SKU-level cost tracking, and operational accounting for FMCG distribution. Key Responsibilities 1. Day-to-Day Financial Operations Manage general ledger transactions, journal entries, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). Conduct bank, vendor, and customer account reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). Handle UAE VAT returns, Corporate Tax compliance, and maintain accurate audit trails. 2. FMCG & Cost Accounting Track product costing, landed costs (freight, customs, handling), and bill of materials (BOM). Manage inventory valuation, monitor stock movement, and track Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across warehouse channels. Analyze gross profit margins by product lines, channels, and SKUs to identify cost leaks or yield loss. Perform monthly physical inventory counts and reconcile variances between system records and physical stock. 3. Internal Audit & Controls Establish and review internal control procedures across sales, procurement, and inventory workflows. Perform periodic operational audits on petty cash, van sales reconciliations, and credit limits. Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and ensure timely compliance with audit queries. Desired Candidate Profile

Education

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. CA Inter, ACCA, or CMA certification preferred.

Experience

6 8 years of core accounting experience, with mandatory background in FMCG, retail, or wholesale distribution.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Tally)
• Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and UAE Corporate Tax laws
