Accountant

MAC Engineering & Contracting is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Accountant to join its Finance Department at its Beirut sin el fil office. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the company's accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and Lebanese financial regulations. Key Responsibilities Record, classify, and maintain accurate accounting transactions. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Monitor project expenditures and assist in project cost control. Prepare and submit VAT declarations and other statutory filings in accordance with Lebanese regulations. Process payroll and maintain employee-related financial records. Assist in budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning. Coordinate with external auditors and provide the required financial documentation. Ensure compliance with the Company's internal financial policies and procedures. Support the Finance Manager in day-to-day accounting and reporting activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 5 years of relevant accounting experience; experience within the construction or contracting sector is highly preferred. Sound knowledge of Lebanese tax legislation and accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and accounting software/ERP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in Arabic and English is required; French is considered an asset.
