Accountant- FMCG Distributor

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Salary- 5000- 6000 AED + Visa, Medical and Annual Bonus Our client is one of the world's leading global FMCG distribution companies, with operations spanning across the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania regions. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to support their finance operations in the UAE. The role will be responsible for managing core accounting activities, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Treasury Operations, and month-end closing activities, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AR, AP, General Ledger, and treasury-related processes. Ensure accurate identification and allocation of costs across business units and transactions. Review, verify, and process supplier invoices in line with company policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reports, including aging analysis. Coordinate vendor payment processing and maintain accurate payment schedules. Perform customer account follow-ups to support timely collections. Conduct bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial records. Support VAT reconciliations and filing requirements. Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Support month-end and period-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of reporting requirements. Manage end-to-end Cash Against Documents (CAD) processes as part of treasury operations for UAE and South Africa entities. Perform inventory reconciliations and investigate variances. Support internal/external audits, finance projects, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in the UAE is mandatory. Experience within FMCG, distribution, trading, or multinational environments would be preferred however not mandatory. Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and treasury processes. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar ERP platforms preferred). Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis. Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and support month-end closing activities. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with finance, procurement, logistics, and commercial teams.
